Creation and evolution: Tom and Jerry were created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera in 1940. Introduced as a short film this animated series was elaborated after the appreciation it got after its first screening. Since then, this American animated series made history in the field of animation. 1st October, 1992 was the day when these two immortal characters were made into films and least to say that it was appreciated by all around the world.

Baptism of Tom and Jerry: Did you know the actual names of these two adorable characters? No? It was Jasper (Tom) and Jinx (Jerry) were the names given by the creators. John Carr was the animator who gave our favourite characters the permanent names Tom and Jerry.

Controversies: Can you believe that this animated comedy ever faced some controversial remarks as well? Yes, you heard me right. It was criticised on the ground of violence, though we never saw any blood spilling on the screen. Due to this, the animators decided to make peace between the two ever fighting characters in 1975, but that didn’t work for long.
